Out of Iraq but Save Darfur. This makes little sense to me.
I'm for Peace but I'm also for protecting the US. If it takes violence then go big. But that's not the point of this thread. I'm asking a question because I want to know. I truly don't understand when it's okay.
i find the term apostate used freely towards those who have left the org, by both witnesses hiding and also ex witnesses calling themselves that.

i have been out for over 6 years and the last thing i consider myself is an apostate.
I have no friends that are Dubs, with whom I associate now. My family doesn't talk to me about Jehoobie any longer b/c they know I just don't care. Any time they talk about Jehoobie, I tell them to go all the way back to the primordial ooze. Let's start there. They don't know anything about that so they've stopped bugging me.
If I did know Dubs currently, I could not care less what they call me. If someone on this board calls me that, well I assume it's a term of endearment. I call my kid a turd. So what? She knows what I mean... and she is a little turd.

Maybe I should clarify. The info below my writing, asking for America's help in Darfur, is a copy/paste from savedarfur.org. I certainly didn't write it. I don't want us there.
I simply want to know how I'm supposed to justify our boys and girls fighting and dieing in one country but not another. When is it okay/socially acceptable/responsible to go to war? I can read for days the posts of people saying, "Out of Iraq now!". When will I see an "Out of Darfur" sticker? Why not? Is there no one on this board that supports UN and therefore US efforts/killing in Darfur? If that's the case then great! Hopefully we won't be involved at all.
As far as the sarcasm, well I don't know any other way to put it. I'm writing as genuinely as I possibly can.

Tetra, for such an anti-war pacifist, you sure are one angry dude. ...or at least you're angry on this thread. I'm asking a question because I don't understand something, which I wrote. You can infer whatever you want. You guys/gals have your opinions so I'm looking for your input. I didn't get much/anything from your input, but thanks for sharing. I don't take your words personally. It's a freakin' forum. Henceforth, I'll simply discount not read your posts.
Now, for anyone that cares to help me out. I'd like to know, why is it okay to push an agenda, though under the guise of humanitarian effort, in one country but not another?
Maybe I'm just out-of-my-tree and don't get it. If that's the case then fine but it sure seems like we have a lot of mixed messaging.

I would never give my life for my country or any other country for that matter.
I would give it up to save another human being, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion. Yes, even including a JW(though they have the resurrection hope).
I've heard other people say/believe this. One question, what are your criteria for this? How do you decide? Geographically? Okay, does it have to come down to some radical/kook/nut-job to come to your neighbors' houses and kill them before you'll stand up and say, "enough"? What about the next neighborhood, next city, next county, state and finally country?
I'm asking because I don't understand the logic. I keep having flashbacks of 6th grade... the smart kid asking the bully why he doesn't just leave people alone. You'll kill, not because your gov't tells you to but because some stranger tells you to? Why not just say, "I hate those poo-poo heads"?
We can't just "all get along" because they don't want to get along. They want us dead. Simple. I've earned multiple degrees but I guess I'm not smart enough to see why this is so difficult to understand.
